Lambda Foundation raises money to enable universities to grant awards designed to promote national recognition of individuals or groups who, through their achievement, build bridges of understanding of gays and lesbians with other equality seeking groups, and the Canadian society.

 Through fund raising, we arrange for and endow annual scholarships in gay and lesbian studies at Canadian universities and at Salt Spring Island high school. Lambda Foundation manages each fund according to the specific agreements with each university or school.

Recent work of Lambda Foundation Scholarship recipients includes:

• Researchers on ‘Gay Landscape’
• ‘What it is to be Gay, and Catholic’
• A ‘Queer Lexicography’ (introduced by translators in the House of Commons, Canada)
• Review of bias and discrimination within the immigration process managed by the government
• Literary heritage of Queer authors
• Writers and many others
